Foraging for Fungi

Interested in learning more about mushrooms and the fungal world?

We offer donation based walks through various woodland in East and West Sussex, throughout the months of September, October and November.

See below for upcoming walking tours.

  • What we learn about

Our focus is to deepen your understanding of the forest ecosystem, how intertwining layers of tree, soil, flora and fauna create a healthy foundation for fungi to grow.

We will provide guidance on sustainable foraging practises, and how to read the environment to find certain species of fungi.

We focus on edible and medicinal identification. By the end of the session you will have an idea of how to identifying and use a handful of species.

Example species are polypores, boletes, deceivers, hedgehog fungus, horn of plenty, amanita varieties, chantarelles, wood ears, beef steak fungus and other brackets.
